Identification of biomarkers for the genomic classification of probiotics

    Abstract:
    The use of probiotics has increased in popularity in recent years, which has increased the need to understand what factors determine which bacterium follows a probiotic. In this study, complete genome sequencing was used to identify proteins with the greatest probiotic potential. Using a bioinformatics approach, an exhaustive review of the literature and numerical classification of proteins, the categories that most contribute to the functions of a probiotic have been identified. As a final result, a list of protein biomarkers with greater probiotic potential has been obtained, facilitating future studies and applications of these beneficial microorganisms.
