How parents feel towards the arrival of an autistic child

Abstract:
Autism in a child causes a change in family dynamics. The purpose of this research project is to study how the disease affects parents. It will consist of a field study, observational, descriptive, comparative and cross, a mixed methodology. The study will take place in associations of Castellon and Valencia; the duration will be of six months approximately. The study subjects are the parents of associations that know and accept the inclusion criteria. The data collection procedure will be based on conducting an interview, Golberg scale to assess the risk of anxiety and depression and a specific questionnaire: Questionnaire family impact of Donenberg and Baker. From the data obtained and the result set we will compare the differences between fathers and mothers.
