Abstract:
Introduction: in ancient times and even today, pregnancy is considered a period where the woman is in a constant emotional well-being where the problems disappear. During 2014, there were approximately 20% of midwives affected by what is known as postpartum depression, defined as a major depressive disorder begins in postpartum, known as 4 weeks after birth according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders or DSM-IV. Objectives: The general objective is the incidence of postpartum Depression in Spanish State and identify the role that nursing professionals have in our country. Besides the main, there are specific objectives which are to know the risk factors that can lead to trigger a postpartum depression in women, which treatment they used, the identification of prevention and early detection of this disease. Methods: bibliographic review by scientists research of the databases articles: CUIDEN, PubMed, Scielo, DialNet, and electronic journal named Global Nursing, a clinical practice of the Public Health Agency of Canada. Descriptors: "Depression", "Postpartum", "Postpartum depression", "Prevention", "Treatment", "Diagnosis", "Edimburg Postpartum Depression Scale". The review was conducted during the month of October 2015 to January 2016. Results: During the bibliographic review I’ve been observed that the incidence of such diseases, in Spain, is 15-20% for the last 10 years. The role of nurses in the Spanish state is practically nil because there are midwives professionals. They have the paper to take care and prevention the Postpartum Depression. Conclusions: Due to the few studies and the little care to the women about postpartum depression performed in maternity units of the ICS's hospitals, I've done a protocol to use the Inventory of Beck Scale and the EPDS to prevent and detect early the Postpartum Depression.
