Resumen: The aim of this study is to analyse the role of SFRP5 in women with morbid obesity and NAFLD. We found that irculating SFRP5 levels increase after a caloric restriction in subjects with MO regardless of NAFLD. Moreover, hepatic SFRP5 seems to have a protective role in the first steps of NAFLD, but in an advanced stage of the disease, SFRP5 is deregulated while JNK and WNT5A are activated.; L'objectiu d'aquest estudi és analitzar el paper de SFRP5 en dones amb obesitat mòrbida i NAFLD. Vam trobar que els nivells de SFRP5 irculant augmenten després d'una restricció calòrica en subjectes amb MO independentment de la NAFLD. A més, l'SFRP5 hepàtic sembla tenir un paper protector en els primers passos de la NAFLD, però en una fase avançada de la malaltia, SFRP5 es desregula mentre s'activen JNK i WNT5A.
