Abstract: A comprehensive examination of existing standards for pressure-vacuum venting system design is required to establish the guidelines governing the sizing and operation of pressure-vacuum relief valves. The standards analyzed throughout the study are API 2000 7th Edition Main Body and Annex A, DIN EN 14015, ISO 28300 and TRGS 509. By critically analyzing these regulations, this study will recommend a standard for the sizing of pressure-vacuum relief valves, providing a review of each of the standards identifying lacks, inconsistencies, or areas that may require improvement. It should be noted that this study is focused on uninsulated fixed-roof storage tanks.
