Title in different languages: Noticing ‘have/get’ Causatives: A Multimedia-based Inductive Approach
Abstract: This thesis compares ‘have/get’ causative teaching between a deductive and an enhanced inductive approach, with ‘noticing’ and audiovisual clips. The main research question focuses on the outperformance of this approach to the deductive, while a secondary one looks at an increase in motivation. A control and experimental group were organized in a pre and posttest design. It also included a postquestionnaire to measure their motivation. The results show an increase in the control group, but motivation portrayed positive results. Despite time and technical issues, this study sheds light on a grammar topic that has been under-researched in the EFL literature.
