    Abstract:
This study aims to improve Vietnamese English teachers’ American English pronunciation by using two free MAPT (Mobile-Assisted Pronunciation Training) apps. This study involves an experimental and a control group, with 20 participants in each group. The experimental group used the Mastering the American Accent and Speakometer apps, while the control group followed traditional instructional methods. Both groups took the pre- and posttests to measure and compare their pronunciation proficiency. Besides, responses from the experimental group in the questionnaire were analyzed and compared to evaluate the impact of those MAPT apps on Vietnamese students’ self-perception of improvement, and their motivation and attitudes towards pronunciation training through apps. Students' results significantly improved after using both apps, showing the efficiency of the two MAPT apps to improve students' L2 sound perception in pronunciation training.
