Abstract: In this study, the MALDI-IMS (MALDI Imaging) technique will be used specifically. Mass spectrometry in MALDI images is the use of ionization of matrix-assisted laser desorption as a mass spectrometry image technique in which the sample, often a section of the thin tissue, moves in two dimensions while registering the mass spectrum. The most important advantage of this technique shows us the ability to measure the distribution of a large number of analytes without destroying the sample, this fact makes it a useful method for studying tissues. An important point in the present study will be the optimization of the preparation and use of different types of matrix, such as 2,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid (DHB), sinapinic acid (SA), α-cyano acid -4-hidroxicinamic (CHCA) and 9-aminoacridine (9-AA). In several works it has been proven that the MALDI-TOF-MS technology is useful for genetic markers. Along with multivariate analysis, it can be used to determine intermediate PMIs and improves the sensitivity of detection of some drugs embedded in a hair matrix. It is also helpful for providing a level of detection of methamphetamine up to a nanogram per millimeter incorporated into the hair. It can prove for the elaboration of fast chemical profiles or the image of the red marks, to detect the chemical species contained in the residue and this allows the physical reconstruction of the ridges of the fixed fin. Mass spectrometry in MALDI images has entered the field of tissue-based research, providing unique advantages to analyze them in detail.
