Experimental analysis of the magnetic particles deposition on the walls of microchannels

    Abstract:
    The Final Master's Project about experimental analysis of the magnetic particles deposition on the walls of microchannels pretends to study and analyse the behaviour of the magnetic particles. It is studied and analysed how magnetic particles deposit to the walls of a microchannel for the effect of a permanent magnet. It is studied how is produced each deposition modifying the size of the particle, the size and the orientation of the magnet, the size of the capillary (microchannel) and the flow of solution. Using the imatges purchased during the experiments, it is done a quantitative analysis using the program Matlab. It is made a code with Matlab that allows calculating the area of particles deposited and the symmetry of these towards the magnet. In addition, it is pretended to measure the magnetic flow of the magnets and find his magnetisation. Another aim is to determinate the magnetic susceptibility of particles in a simple way, to do it, it is considered the balance of strengths to a particle.
