Abstract: Research about the effectiveness of the Amara Berri’s system for the acquisition of a second language is currently scarce. Moreover, education systems in Spain have not made significant changes from the traditional one functioning in Primary and Secondary schools. Therefore, this thesis aims at investigating the effectiveness of the Amara Berri’s system for the acquisition of a second language in Primary School to analyze whether other systems and methodologies can assist in the learning of English. The experimental research consisted of a comparative study about the academic outcomes of students in two schools in Catalonia: one with a traditional system and one working with the Amara Berri’s system. The exam chosen to analyze the students’ academic performance in the areas of reading, listening, and writing was the Basic Competences exam of 2018-2019. Actualment és escassa la investigació sobre l'eficàcia del sistema d'Amara Berri per a l'adquisició d'una segona llengua. A més, els sistemes educatius a Espanya no han fet canvis significatius respecte al funcionament tradicional de les escoles primàries i secundàries. Per tant, aquesta tesi pretén investigar l'eficàcia del sistema d'Amara Berri per a l'adquisició d'una segona llengua a l'Escola Primària per analitzar si altres sistemes i metodologies poden ajudar en l'aprenentatge de l'anglès. La recerca experimental va consistir en un estudi comparatiu sobre els resultats acadèmics dels estudiants en dues escoles de Catalunya: una amb un sistema tradicional i una altra amb el sistema d'Amara Berri. L'examen escollit per analitzar el rendiment acadèmic dels estudiants en les àrees de lectura, escolta i escriptura va ser l'examen bàsic de competències 2018-2019.
