Abstract: The purpose of this study was to verify whether HelloTalk can motivate language students to interact and learn in English outside the classroom. The research had a form of a case study. The data collection instruments were pre- and post-questionnaires, an interview, and a teacher’s journal. The educational materials were tailor-made worksheets. The study was divided into two parts. The first one- online English classes with the researcher and the second- using HelloTalk by the students. The results of the questionnaire confirmed the main and specific hypotheses and students’ perception of the app was positive.
