    Abstract: Teachers’ beliefs influence English language teaching and learning. The aim of the present study is to investigate current beliefs of English teachers to very young learners about the best methodology, the use of L1 during the lesson, and the main challenges the teachers experience when teaching very young learners, comparing the opinions of Spanish teachers with those of their colleagues from Russia. Data for this research were collected by a questionnaire made with the help of Google forms. 49 teachers from Spain and Russia served as subjects in the study. The study enlightens on the topic of teaching English to very young learners.
