Determination of phthalates in bottled water

Abstract:
This study involves the use of SPME arrow, a novel extraction technique, gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to develop a method to determine phthalate acid esters (PAEs) in bottled water. The developed method was applied to the analysis of the most consumed bottled water samples by catalan population. In addition, by using the data obtained by analysing real samples, a study is conducted to determine the risk assessment of PAEs by bottled water consumption.
