Abstract: In this End-of-Master Project, three short stories have been translated from English to Spanish. The three stories had never been translated to Spanish when the project was carried out. The chosen ones were: Alphabet Wednesdays by Sarah Salway, Charlotte by Jon McGregor and Thunder by Allan Wilson. This project works as a report of the translation, reflecting the specific translation problems that appeared. Similarly, the author describes the initial norm, the global strategies and the translation techniques that he applied, while justifying each decision. Through the translation of these short stories and the analysis of each choice during the translation, the aim is to set up the idiosyncrasy of the translation of shorts stories as a literary genre. All this End-of-Master Project is framed in a simulation of a real professional situation. The tutor suggested some translation through a job bank. Then, the students, acting as professionals, sent their application, negotiated the budget and attended any possible negotiation with the fictitious customer, the tutor.
