Abstract: El propósito de este estudio ha sido si con el uso del Aprendizaje Cooperativo (AC) y el uso de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC), concretamente con el uso del podcast, se obtienen mejores resultados académicos y una mejora en la expresión oral dentro de la materia de Lengua Castellana y Literatura en 1º de ESO. El diseño empleado ha sido cuasiexperimental con un grupo control y un grupo experimental a los que se les impartió la misma unidad didáctica con metodologías distintas. Al grupo control a través de la metodología tradicional y al grupo experimental a través del AC y el uso del podcast. Speaking is one of the most difficult linguistic skills to be assessed in classroom settings. Mainly because of that, this skill does not receive the necessary attention in secondary schools. This study aims at analyzing to what extent the Cooperative Learning and the use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT), in particular the use of podcast, enhance 1º ESO students’ oral proficiency in the Spanish Language and Literature classroom. To address this goal, a quasi-experimental study was conducted with a control (n = 24) and an experimental group (n = 23). Participants were recruited in a high school located at Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana (Barcelona). The educational intervention in the experimental group consisted of applying the Cooperative Learning and including the use of podcast. In the control group, in contrast, they received the ordinary language-instruction classes. For gathering the data, participants in both groups were assessed on their oral competence at two pre-test and two post-test. Additionally, students’ motivation was assessed through a Likert questionnaire. According to the results, the use of Cooperative Learning and ICT, through podcast, significantly enhances students’ oral competence in the Spanish Language and Literature classroom in comparison with the ordinary language-instruction class. These improvements were only observed in those students who started with lower grades. El propòsit d'aquest estudi ha estat si amb l'ús de l'Aprenentatge Cooperatiu (AC) i l'ús de les Tecnologies de la Informació i Comunicació (TIC), concretament amb l'ús del podcast, s'obtenen millors resultats acadèmics i una millora en l'expressió oral dins de la matèria de Llengua Castellana i Literatura en 1r d'ESO. El disseny emprat ha estat quasiexperimental amb un grup control i un grup experimental als quals se'ls va impartir la mateixa unitat didàctica amb metodologies diferents. Al grup control a través de la metodologia tradicional i al grup experimental a través de l'AC i l'ús del podcast.
