Abstract: Widely used dating apps like Tinder process large amounts of highly sensitive user data that require adequate protection. Our work evaluates the security and privacy of the Tinder user data by conducting a Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) according to Article 35 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We demonstrate that Tinder infringes several GDPR provisions that pose a significant risk to the data subjects and propose countermeasures to mitigate these risks.
