Resum: Owing to urban and industrial expansion, the production of sewage sludge (SS) derived from wastewater treatment has increased. In 2008, Catalonia generated 139,300 tonnes of SS (dry weight), between those 83% were disposed in agricultural fields. The amount of SS incorporated into agriculture as a fertilizer and the possible consequences that this could produce in social and environmental spheres lead to the necessity of developing an efficient management model. This study aims to develop a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) to identify suitable agricultural areas to amend with sewage sludge. For its implementation the Logic Scoring of Preferences (LSP) technique, together with GIS technology have been applied.
