    Abstract:
This article presents some theoretical approaches to studying religious socialization and transmission, and discusses the features that are explicit and implicit to these approaches and, therefore, to the community. Within an essentially constructivist framework, we discuss not only the general dynamics of socialization, and particularly religious socialization, as a transmission of knowledge and learning, but also the various agents involved, the interactivesymbolic processes active in the socializing mechanics, the structure-subject generative dialectics in the community context and the important role played by charisma and spiritual training programmes. By regarding religious socialization as essentially the acquisition of a habitus in practice, according to Pierre Bourdieu's model, we conclude that explicit and implicit features determine the acquisition of a structuring and revitalising habitus that reinforces the religious identity of the subjects and the symbolic construction of the community.
