Abstract: © The Electrochemical Society. The structural engineering of Nanoporous anodic Alumina with controllability, reproducibility, cost-effective, and well-organized processes presents excellent opportunities for the obtention of several structures with photonic and optical properties to enable their application in several fields such as chemical and optical biosensing, drug delivery, photocatalysis, optical encoding and others. For this reason, we present a comprehensive study of the recent advances in the engineering of nanoporous anodic alumina structures and their application in optical sensing.
