Abstract: European countries have witnessed a surge of populist radical right parties in the last decades, some of them entering government coalitions with right-wing parties in several democracies. In this article we will study the impact of such coalitions on macroeconomic variables like inflation and output. T o this end, we will use a rational partisan theory model extended with fiscal policy and an independent central bank to reflect the European context.
