Abstract:
Based on ethnographic fieldwork, we analysed the role of community-based initiatives in the provision of social care to respond to the socioeconomic effects of the COVID-19 crisis, and we investigated the role of digital technologies in these initiatives, considering their practices, limits, and potential. Community experiences, with the incorporation of digital technologies, played an important part regarding material and relational-emotional care, in front of its testimonial character in relation to the domestic-corporal care.
