Drawing the lines of a territory. A close case: The Camp of Tarragona

Abstract:
The existence of borders comes into question when one realizes that they only exist in the collective imagination. This imagination differentiates political impositions and inherent, natural features, thereby allowing the study of the latter in the Camp de Tarragona as a case study. Through the analysis of historical cartography and the drawing of geographical descriptions and orographic morphologies, a sequence of lines has been sketched to represent the territory. These lines indicate that territorial boundaries are not precise definitions  but rather broad and abstract concepts, directly influencing the territorial function and, consequently, the ways of inhabiting it.
