Abordajes y ‘respuestas’ de las universidades catalanas frente a las violencias LGTBIQ+fóbicas

Resumen:
Gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual/transgender, intersex and queer (LGTBIQ+) people en-dure lifelong discrimination which renders them vulnerable to many forms of gender and sexual violence. This problem nevertheless remains poorly recognized, and few effective and respectful interventions therefore exist for resolving and / or confronting it. In this article, we will analyze gender and sexual violence against the LGTBIQ+ community in university context, revealing to what extent academic institutions assume their social re-sponsibilities in relation to such violence. In addition, we will reflect on the contribution of European and Spanish macro policies, orientated towards the protection of LGTBIQ+ people, to the lack of micro-level protections within the university. To conclude, we will evidence the importance of articulating an explicit and direct commitment to ensuring the university becomes an inclusive, respectful and safe space for all.
