Dual Catalytic Strategy for Forging sp(2)-sp(3) and sp(3)-sp(3) Architectures via beta-Scission of Aliphatic Alcohol Derivatives

    A dual platform for forging sp(2)-sp(3) and sp(3)-sp(3) carbon bonds via catalytic beta-scission of aliphatic alcohol derivatives with both aryl and alkyl halides is disclosed. This protocol is distinguished by its wide substrate scope and broad applicability, even in the context of late-stage functionalization.
