Ficción lexicográfica sobre el uso de las adaptaciones del término footbal en español

Resumen:
The aim of this study is to describe, bothfrom a morphological and semantic point of view, the use of the different adaptations of footballin Spanish recorded in different types of texts and to analyse their representation in dictionaries. To do so, we start from the results ofprevious studies focused on the analysis of bibliographic sources on football, as well as from the bibliographic review of primary sources and the hemerographicx1search for data related to the object of study. The analysis of the data in the texts shows that 13 adaptationsof football are documented (fobál, fóbal, fotbal, fotball, fotbol, fubol, fuból, fuboll, fudbol, fulbo, futbolor fútboland futboll), of which futboland fútbolare the most used: futbolisdocumented since 1902 and fútbolsince 1915. Both words, over time, developed4 meanings, 15 sub-acceptionsand 5 complex forms which have been more than ratified by usage. However, their representation in Spanish dictionaries does not correspond, however, with the reality of their use. On the one hand, both terms were not incorporated into a Spanish dictionary until 1927, but only since 1966. On the other hand, the definitions provided do not adjust to the reality of what the terms mean nor, from the point of view of the lexicographic technique used, do they usually respect the basic principles of lexicographic definition, such as close gender and specific difference.
