    Resum:
The physiognomy of scientific dissemination in the second half of the 19th century is marked by the increased social interest in scientific advancements and their industrial applications, as well as the desire to gather information (inherited from the 18th century). In this context, this study analyzes the diffusion of scientific vocabulary in 19th-century lexicography (marked by this accumulative thirst for information) and in scientific texts and periodicals of the time, starting from the discovery of vanadium. This allows for demonstrating the role of the Diccionario Nacional by R.J. Domínguez (1846-47) as a disseminator of scientific information and as a source and inspiration for subsequent Spanish dictionaries.
