    Abstract:
    This article is based on a research in language teaching which is about the recognition of the retrospective usage of the simple present tense (historical present) by students of 3rd and 6th of primary education. The results show that in order to solve the task students focus on their own experience, their world knowledge and their knowledge about temporal modifiers. The conclusions propose to teach verb tenses from an interdisciplinary perspective.
