    Resum:
Reconstruction of past food webs is essential to assess the role of Homo in the European Pleistocene paleoecosystems. In this work a mathematical model based on Leslie Matrix is applied. This model provides estimations of available meat resources for secondary consumers in the paleocommunity, hominins among them. The sustainable secondary consumer populations are estimated with the available resources in the paleoecosystems, reconstructing the macromammalian community. The model was applied in late Early and Middle Pleistocene sites, at a local scale at the Sierra de Atapuerca and at a continental scale in European sites. Results obtained suggest that during the late Early and early Middle Pleistocene human presence was dependent on the composition and structure of the paleocommunities.
