When caring time ends postcaregiver has needs and feelings that haven’t been studied today. The main objective is to understand and analyze the feelings, perceptions and practices of post-family caregivers in the reconstruction of their daily life.Methodology: Conducting in-depth interviews with 14 post-caregivers who had cared for more than 2 years to his family and made more than 2 who had stopped to care. The data analysis was performed under Grounded Theory and the principle of saturation of information was followed. For data triangulation was counted with the collaboration of a group of experts multidisplinar. This study has the approval of the CEIC of IDIAP Jordi Gol.Results: The life of a caregiver, the transition to life post-caregiver and reconstruction of life as post-caregiver, with their corresponding sub-categories: data analysis in three major categories were obtained. Our results are similar to those described by Larkin (2010) and Breen (2015) although some differences highlighted. All informants refer a “void”, as described by the authors cited above, but in our study emerges a new determining factor of this gap: the increase in leisure time. Note that the transition to the everyday life of post-care lasts about three years, which contrasts with Larkin, and goes beyond grief.Conclusions: former caregivers live a transition in rebuilding their daily life where support from professionals is fundamental. Postcuidadores family can be a source of support to other caregivers.
