Resum:
The objective of this research is the analysis of the residential attraction of different workers in Catalan tourism municipalities. The two groups of workers that the study focuses on are creative workers and workers employed in low-skilled professions. The scale of the analysis has two dimensions: at the regional level, is analyzed the attraction of these workers in the whole of the Catalan urban system and the tourist municipalities that are part of it; at supra-municipal level, the analysis is done in the coastal towns of Penedès Marítim. At the regional level, is carried out an evolutionary analysis of the residence of creative and low-skilled workers based on the census data of the years 2001 and 2011. The study fixes the attention on the relation between the conditions of territorial attractiveness, measured from the synthetic index of creative conditions (or 4 T's; Tolerance, Talent, Technology and Territory) and the location of these workers. At the supra-municipal level, the analysis is carried out based on the data collected through fieldwork. At this level, the socio-demographic characteristics of the residents are analyzed and, based on their residential preferences, the territory is symbolically interpreted. The research presents different results: provide evidence on the demographic deconcentration process of Catalonia; define the uniqueness of the tourist municipalities in the residential attraction; characterize the residential specialization patterns of urban-tourist systems; tourist municipalities are interpreted symbolically as spaces of opportunity; and, or the theoretical debate, give elements for the theoretical discussion of elements f on different elements related to creative and low-skilled workers, the urban system and the evolution of Catalan tourist destinations
