    A significant number of the symptoms of borderline personality disorder appear in the interpersonal context, specifically, as difficulties in social cognition. The purpose of this study is to analyse social cognition in women with borderline personality disorder, in comparison to a control group, and to study the relationship with associated psychopathology and child abuse. Social cognition was assessed with the Movie for the Assessment of Social Cognition (MASC, Dziobek et al., 2006), a recent instrument with high ecological validity and authenticated in Spanish (Lahera et al., 2014). Method: A sample of 79 women, 47 diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and the other 32 made up the control group. The association between borderline personality disorder, psychopathology and abuse was studied through correlations, comparison of averages and linear regression.
