New pathways for early identification of atrial fibrillation in the community

The study, divided into two parts, has the common objective of establishing a concise route for atrial fibrillation (AF). The main overall objective of the two parts of the study was to define and create a precise route for the detection, diagnosis, and treatment of AF and, therefore, to avoid the obvious adverse effects derived from this pathology. As the main result of this project, we have established that a health case search program is a tool that helps us increase the prevalence and incidence of AF in our population and, at the same time, we have been able to identify barriers in the search for patients with AF. In another part of the study, research has been carried out on different clinical, biological and electrocardiographic records in order to identify more cases of AF. We have identified that the NT-proBNP marker could help us in screening for AF. With all these data, a more accurate route has been established for the diagnosis of AF
