    Resum:
Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI) is indicated in patients with hematuria after having surgical intervencions, or who present genitourinary pathologies. Currently CBI is a manual technique, which presents complications and requires a great intensity of care on the part of the nurses and HCA (Health Care Assistant). In the first study, the objective is to explore the care practices and meanings that the professionals have in relation to patients with an CBI, as well as the experience that it represents for the patient and family. The qualitative methodology with an interpretative phenomenological approach through interviews, has allowed us to delve into the care provided to patients and not only those related to the CBI. The second study, with the collaboration of a technology company and a biomedical research foundation, has an objective to design, develop and evaluate an innovative prototype (VESICLEAN). The results has allowed us to understand the holistic care provided and not only the LVC, as well as their needs and expectations to be taken into account in the design of the device.
