thesis Pau Olmos<br/>Study of the architectonic and town planning metric patterns in the Iberian context (s. V-II BC)<br/>This work analyses the identification of the linear metrological systems which characterise the northern and central Iberian communities, and their application in the architectonical design and the town planning.<br/>To this effect, the Iberian society, which reaches a high level of territorial hierarchy and a state owned policy, needs to establish a metrological system, either imported or of their own creation. The existence of this system is necessary from the simplest buildings up to the main defensive community creations. <br/>The analysis of the previous design of the most important public and private buildings of the Iberian communities has been the essential tool that allowed us to identify the measuring units. Thus, the determination of the constructive unit used in the building process and its application has been possible thanks to the identification of the geometric principles structuring the Iberian defensive towers. The geometrical analysis of these constructions, showed us how the Iberian architects had a good knowledge of the principal geometrical proportions, both rational and irrational, and also their application.
