How to to improve interpersonal communication within an affectionate relationship?

This study is about the importance of interpersonal communication for people in an affectionate relationship. Since a lack of communication can be a reason for conflict. The methodology has been both quantitative and qualitative with the use of 26 questionnaires to URV students, 3 interviews to URV students and 7 interviews to people from Canada talking about their relationships or their previous breakup. The result found that good listening skills and communication after a lack of it are very important for a lasting relationship since it was lacking among the couple who had a breakup. They was also the importance of spending a good quality of time together along with sharing similar activities. The phone and texting has been used by couple when being away from each or to discuss certain topics. However face-to-face communication remains the most effective way.The study has emphasized the importance of talking about feelings and sharing emotions since a lack of it has caused a breakup for some couple. The negative emotions like anger has been handled mostly through communication among many couple. The study highlights the ability to effectively express thoughts while also considering the needs and preferences of each partner. They was also the importance of understanding to maintain an harmonious relationship. The result found that they are many couple with different mother tongue who are still together in comparison to some who had the same mother tongue and had a breakup. Finally many couple who are still together found that the difference of culture was manageable. Along with the fact that they are couple who had the same culture and had a breakup. This research has also shown that the difference between the partners can help on having a strong relationship.
