    Technological advancement intrinsically entails the daily use of digital technology (DT) by society. Consequently, digital literacy of the population is essential to provide them with digital skills and reduce the current digital divide, at the level of training and resources. Education is a key element to achieve this transformation. In this context, the competent administrations must develop policies that speed up the digital literacy of the population through educational institutions. These institutions must design strategic plans that facilitate the implementation of DT and train students in digital skills. This case study aims to develop a DT implementation process to improve the digital maturity of the educational institution. The research is carried out in an educational center during four academic years and assumes the development of teaching digital competence (TDC) as the backbone for digital transformation through continuous training. The transformation process is executed in 5 phases and allows the development of a model that facilitates the design of a Center Digital Strategy Plan. In conclusion, it is observed that using management mechanisms facilitates the implementation of the use of DT and the design of strategic plans in the educational center. In addition, it is required that it has a quality infrastructure and technological equipment that meets current standards and current legislation at the security level. Thanks to this, strategic plans will be designed that define the institution in the future, through the reflection and cooperation of the teaching staff. The research has provided the scientific community with a model that contemplates the design of a Digital Centre Strategic Plan, based on the development of the TDC and the analysis of the infrastructure.
