Actitudes hacia la diversidad y nuevas estrategias de gestión en los Centros Gerontológicos del siglo XXI

Contextual framework: Diversity should be considered a necessity and a reality in nursing homes. The inclusion of all people regardless of their religion, origin, and/or sexual orientation is essential to create a climate of safety. Method: This is a study carried out using two techniques, the systematic review and the information collection technique. First, a review of the literature in relation to diversity and older people was carried out using the PRISMA approach. Secondly, a review of the instruments that evaluate diversity in relation to older people was developed, using the same method mentioned above. Regarding the information collection technique, we proceeded through surveys and questionnaires by administering the chosen questionnaires. In relation to the statistical analyses, SPSS v.25 was used. to obtain some of the psychometric properties of the items and the Exploratory Factor Analysis. Conclusions: The Person-Centered Care Model (PCCM) is considered essential as a management model in nursing homes, carrying out interventions where the epicenter is the person and their needs, working on the concept of diversity from intersectionality to improve care and quality of life. To do this, an intervention outline is proposed with different phases and objectives from this care model, along with the creation of spaces and training. The purpose will be to promote tolerance towards diversity, improving care and service. The study aims to carry out a first survey to continue with further research along with the validation of the scales that require it. Furthermore, these results have direct implications in current nursing homes that must address diversity both in intervention and in prevention and training.
