Resum:
The thesis titled Exploring the environmental dimension of learning spaces: Towards Smart Classrooms investigates the influence of various environmental factors on the academic performance and emotions of students and teachers in the classroom, employing an empirical-analytical quantitative method. The research is framed within the concept of smart classrooms, which integrate advanced technologies to optimize both pedagogical processes and the learning environment. In this context, five studies were conducted to investigate variables such as temperature, humidity, air quality, lighting, and noise in educational settings. The first study analyzes the influence of temperature, solar irradiance, and scheduling on teacher stress, utilizing heart rate measurements obtained from a smartwatch. The second and third studies examine how conditions of temperature, humidity, and air quality affect the emotions of secondary school students. The fourth study evaluates the impact of dynamic lighting on academic performance in primary education, and the las! study investigates the effect of noise on learning.
