Abstract:
In social work, supervision is the analysis of professional practice. It is a meta-task located in the interface between training and professional support, performed by a consultant external to the organization. The aim of supervision as a process and as a relationship is to review professional behavior and the feelings associated with it, and to compare conceptual and theoretical frameworks with everyday practice. The aim of this thesis is to study the ways in which supervision may contribute to the quality of the services provided, and to the wellbeing of social work professionals in different aspects of their work. Special attention is paid to the conditions in which supervision is carried out. Different supervision practices are analyzed, as well as perceptions of these practices by supervisors, those supervised, and those who contract for supervision services. Various theoretical approaches are explored, and principles, frameworks and perspectives that structure supervision are identified.
