Abstract:
Museum evaluations, specifically public studies, have a long tradition, but these types of studies based on quantitative analysis ceased to generate impact, especially for the cost of time assumed to perform the studies. In this thesis, what is wanted is to recuperate this first idea of quantitative analysis, amplifying it and then creating an evaluation method applicable to any exhibition center. To perform the evaluation effectively, an application in android operating system it’s designed, which systematized data collection, minimizing errors and reducing significantly the time spent for the fieldwork and the subsequent data analysis. For the present study the method was applied to evaluate the Museo de la Evolución Humana de Burgos, and based on different statistical analysis it has been determined the socialization degree of the museum on several levels, taking into account the relationship between visitors and the museum resources. As the evaluation allows us to find 'trouble areas' in the exhibition, it allows us also to propose solutions, which finally is the aim of any evaluation.
