    Abstract:
This thesis presents a quantitative methodological proposal, through which you can analyze the networks that are formed on Twitter as a result of a certain event. At the same time, it contains an empirical case study focused on the process of Catalan independence, of which nine events covering a wide range of time have been analyzed: From the announcement of the Referendum Law in July 2017, to the events of October of the same year. The large volume of data obtained (a sample composed of 10,798,901 tweets and retweets) with code developed with R language, has allowed extensive analysis with the Gephi software. Results and conclusions have been obtained to understand the formation of networks and the structuring of the communicative influence, as well as the possible creation of Public Opinion on Twitter. This methodological proposal covers both the morphological analysis of global networks and the identification and categorization of the most relevant nodes: The Influencers, the Builders and the Bridges.
