    Abstract:
    The thesis studies the third Catalonia, an Hilari Raguer's historiographic invention from Paul Preston's concept on third Spain. This historiographic invention is a self-interested and from an ecclesiastic defense of the rol of Catalan Church and Catalan catholics during the Spanish War (1936-1939), mostly were agree with Gen. Franco. The thesis structures the members of study group in four categories, that basically belonging to Lliga Catalana (Carles Cardó, Francesc Vidal Barraquer), Unió Democràtica de Catalunya (Manuel Carrasco Formiguera, Joan B. Roca Caball, Ramon Sugranyes de Franch, Josep M. Trias Peitx), Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (Lluís Companys) i Acció Catalana Republicana (Claudi Ametlla, Josep M. Boronat, Amadeu Hurtado). It also does a broad range of historiographic debate, it studies the relationships between Catalonia and Spain in peace times and in war times and it does a studi of Boronat's rol in the special war courts.
