Abstract:
The core of this Thesis (PhD) is to develop a critical analysis of the informative treatment of the religious facts by the press, the ones of greater diffusion in our country. It consists of two complementary parts. In the first part, it describes the keys of Habermas's Theory of Communicative Action, in which his Discourse Ethics and the definition of 'ideal situation of dialogue' are derived, as a major orientation of an ideal communicative tension. In the second part, a sampling is made during a calendar year, of the most shocking religious news or stories and provides a series of interviews to journalists, religious leaders and general directors of religious affairs of the Generalitat. Based on the 'communicative competence standard' established and the field study developed, we have been able to identify pros and cons of the current written press, the causes of its difficulties and possible factors for improvement, in order to be a true vehicle for understanding , basis of consensus and harmony.
