    Abstract:
The research that I am presenting here is intended to make visible some absences and historiographical distortions, which exist in the area of the role of the Spanish woman within the Republican Army, but also in the role played by the government in relation to the militarisation of women will last the Spanish Civil War. In other words, the purpose of the thesis is to contribute to the revision and strengthening of studies of Spanish women and the Republican government during the course of the Civil War. Voluntary or involuntary, women actively participated in the defense of the established legal order of the Second Republic. However, it should be noted that the legalized female militarization occurred slowly, according to the needs of the war.
