    Abstract:
This research proposes the study of the absolutist restorations of the Absolutist Sexennium (1814-1820) and the Ominous Decade (1823-1833) in Catalonia from a local perspective. The objectives of the research are, on the one hand, to deepen the study of these periods of the Crisis of the Old Regime (1808-1833) in order to know and assess the changes and processes that occurred during the first third of the nineteenth century in Catalonia and to contrast to what extent they were conditioned by the established political regime. On the other hand, the research raises what are the current uses of local history from a comparative analysis. In this way, although the study focuses on the city of Tarragona, we also incorporated other cities, mainly Girona and Barcelona. The research also raises a multidisciplinary perspective with the incorporation of study topics and research fields little explored by the traditional historical discipline, such as ecological history and historical climatology.
