Abstract:
The main goal is to demonstrate after measuring and analyzing student competence relating to the language economy, the necessity to gather economic procedures around one subject in the undergraduate cycle in spanish language in Cameroon universities and offer pedagogic and didactics’ orientations in order to obtain elements for readjusting the training programme of spanish language in the undergraduate cycle. The specific objectives of research are: to highlight economic procedures present in the class materials, in particular, and the most generalized in spanish language with the purpose to include them in the Hispanic studies training programme in the Cameroon universities; to demonstrate that the misusing or the unknowing of economic resources favour ambiguous constructions and the difficulty of interpretation; to be sure that teachers of spanish linguistic dedicate classes to the language economy tendency; to verify the knowledge of language economy and their procedures through the test and questionnaire submitted to the students and, finally, to provide elements for the readjustment and harmonization of spanish training programmes in Cameroon universities. This study we have carried out is exploratory, descriptive and explanatory with qualitative and quantitative approaches. This work is a contribution to the area of teaching and learning of Spanish linguistics not only in Cameroon, but also in other universities where the concept of “Language Economy” does not make part of the training programmes.
