    Abstract:
Although modern and contemporary history has not been favorable to the medieval choir stall, in Catalonia and Mallorca a number of sets and fragments of the 14th-century are preserved in situ or dispersed, which today make up one of the oldest groups in the Iberian Peninsula. This work is a study of them, focusing on the technical, constructive and morphological questions of this characteristic liturgical-purpose furniture. Field research with the analysis of the material remains and the necessary revision of the written sources allow us to define, for the first time in historiography, the correspondence of the nomenclature of texts with the anatomical parts of the various choir stalls typologies and their constituent parts. On the other hand, the subsequent comparative study thanks to the most complete catalog of Catalan medieval choir stalls to date, makes it easier to establish links between them and also with other contemporary ensembles.
