    Abstract:
The Trager Approach® is a work of psychophysical integration that pursues well-being through the accumulation of positive experiences, whose search for free and effortless movement makes it a proposal available when the body-mind of the musician is contemplated as the first instrument. The objective of this research is to study the effects that its application has on the interpretation of the clarinet, both on the person and on the sound result. For this purpose, a qualitative methodological design has been used, along with some quantitative tools, focused on an intervention with 18 participants who have performed various fragments before and after receiving a Trager session. The exploration has focused on the sensory perception of clarinetists, professionals and higher education students, complemented by the subsequent viewing of the recordings by each performer and also by an external specialist. Likewise, information has been collected from respiratory measurements and a questionnaire completed by musicians from different countries about their performing experience in relation to the approach. The results of the research indicate that the Trager Approach is an efficient means for reducing body tensions, significantly affecting the location, amplitude and quality of movement, depending on the particular initial patterns. Consequently, changes have been recorded such as improved fingering fluency and air management, translating into sound quality. In addition, it promotes greater presence, enjoyment, ease and comfort in performing, which leads to an enhancement in the overall satisfaction of the artistic experience. It is concluded that the Trager Approach can be used as a useful resource to optimize the performing activity of clarinetists, refining the use of muscle tone and contributing to the increase of pleasurable feelings during the performance, simultaneously enhancing a more enriching musical result.
