    Abstract:
It is necessary to identify new biomarkers for prostate cancer (PCa) due to its high incidence and difficulty in diagnosing aggressive tumors. Peritumoral adipose tissue, due to its proximity to cancer cells, has been associated with the development and progression of some tumors such as breast cancer. We investigated whether periprostatic adipose tissue (PPAT), a component of the PCa tumor microenvironment, influences tumor aggressiveness. Our lipidomic PPAT analysis revealed that there are alterations in patients with high-risk PCa: an increase in monounsaturated fatty acids (AG) and lysophosphatidylinositol and a decrease in omega 6 polyunsaturated FA. We identified that 12,13-epoxyoctadecenoic acid and monoglyceride (18:0) are independent factors related to the aggressiveness of CaP. These alterations are associated with reduced linoleic acid metabolism, AG biosynthesis, and very long-chain AG β-oxidation.
