    Abstract:
Pharmaceutical contaminants, including antibiotics, hormones, and antiseptics, persistently pollute water even at low concentrations. Investigating supported liquid membrane treatments, two configurations were examined to remove compounds like diclofenac, ibuprofen, carbamazepine, and penicillin. The organic extractant effectively targeted these contaminants using distinct mechanisms. Integration with ozonation enhanced mineralization. Mechanistic modeling of mass transfer in flat sheet and hollow fiber membranes established mass transfer coefficients. A meta-analysis of diverse studies on emerging contaminant removal from aqueous solutions refined a predictive model. This comprehensive research tackles the challenge of addressing emerging contaminant removal, presenting valuable insights for effective treatment strategies.
